Case Study: The Driggs Haus – A Fresh Take On A Brooklyn Condominium / by Guest User

The Driggs Haus is a 23,500-square-foot condominium that we designed with Greenpoint Luxury Development.

The five story new development building sits between the corner of Driggs Avenue and Graham Street. The unique location provided us with the opportunity to emphasize the unique nature of the obtuse angled corner by siting the building at a right angle to Graham.

We created a distinctive triangular space along the Driggs side of the building, the space terminates in front of the ground floor condo to complement the back garden. We also wanted to break up the apparent length of the building to further highlight the corner. In doing so we differentiated the first 15 feet along Driggs Avenue with larger windows and selected an off white ceramic tile to contrast the dark brick, which skins the balance of the building.

The inclusion of natural light and outdoor space into the units was central to the design. Over-sized European windows allow generous amounts of natural light into the shared kitchen, dining and living spaces.

Of the twenty one units, nine units have balconies adjacent to their living rooms and three have large terraces. All units share a sculptured garden on the roof, which boasts breathtaking views of Manhattan.
