Upper East Side

The GW team are working with a repeat client in due-diligence analyses of in-fill sites on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. We will work closely with the client to design a new church and community center spanning 37,000sf, the center will also include a sanctuary for 520.

Harlem

Gertler and Wente Architects are working on the renovation of a Harlem church into a modern mixed-use development. The new building will consist of both a church and pre-K school. The building will feature a glass facade that opens up into a flex space to be used as a cafe, drop-in workspace and event venue. Through the flex space, the sanctuary will have a direct visual connection to the street. The Universal pre-K school above the church will be accessed separately. The project also includes church classrooms, a fellowship hall and a parsonage.

Bronx

We are excited to announce that out team have completed a schematic plan for a new 56,000sf church facility in the Bronx. The corner site includes an atrium entrance, a sanctuary for 640, a fellowship hall, a full-size indoor basketball court, a food pantry, classrooms, offices, underground parking and a garden. The design is a re-interpretation of a traditional church, which is counterpoised against a separate community center.
