Sharing a site that borders an elevated Amtrak rail line in downtown New Brunswick, Rutgers University asked that the College of Nursing and the Institute for Health share an entry plaza while maintaining unique identities. The new College of Nursing building is a 3-story 22,500 s.f. building, which includes an 85-seat ‘smart’ classroom, a mock ICU laboratory, exam rooms, administration area, faculty offices, student lounge, and a computer laboratory. Exterior materials include brick, zinc cladding, and a specially detailed acoustic glass curtain wall.
