Gertler & Wente worked with Vetta Jewelry to design the company’s new headquarters in New York City. Located across two floors, Vetta’s offices, showrooms, conference and reception are located on the 9th floor, while the design department, workshops and jewelry components storage are located on the 4th floor.
GW’s approach evolved from a clear understanding of the company’s day-to-day business needs, with a design that establishes a consistent visual language against which Vetta and its affiliate brands can express unique identities. Vetta required the two main showrooms for its competing divisions have direct access to the public reception area, while maintaining physical separation for product confidentiality purposes. Gertler & Wente’s design solution introduces a minimal, secure glass-box entry vestibule, which also lends itself as a backdrop to showcase Vetta’s product.
A clean, minimal aesthetic and a neutral color palette provide a quiet backdrop to the company’s in-house brands. By resolving Vetta’s functional requirements in an understated, unified manner, the architecture recedes into the background – allowing the company’s fashion and art to take center stage.
