GW Architects was hired to convert an existing, underutilized staff locker area into a new state-of-the-art Breast Surgery Pre-Op & Post-Op Area on the 7th floor of the Guggenheim Pavilion. This new suite consists of five private rooms and a centrally located nursing station with a connected medicine/supplies alcove. The final design finishes are intended to invoke a relaxing and calming experience. Since the space has no exterior windows, GW incorporated glass walls and intimate lighting to open up the space, while introducing strong accent colors and natural wood wallcoverings.
