Located near New York City's Theater District, NYU Langone- Ambulatory Care West Side brings the expertise of NYU Langone Medical Center to a thriving and diverse community on the west side of Manhattan. In providing care in the surrounding communities through strategically located multi-specialty ambulatory care practices, the NYU Health Center is able to bring world-class care to the surrounding communities. At the inception of the project, NYU occupied three of eight floors in the building. Gertler & Wente Architects was asked to program and design for a full fit-out on the 8th floor. The project consists of over 5,000 square feet for orthopedic family practice, including a Siemens diagnostic x-ray room. The main waiting area has unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, with large windows that allow sunlight into the space. A custom-designed ceiling takes advantage of generous floor to floor heights while emphasizing the loft-like feel of this formerly industrial space.
