The clients asked Gertler & Wente Architects to design a new weekend home in the Southern Berkshires. The design features materials ranging from locally quarried flagstone terraces to bamboo flooring; a unique combination of zinc cladding and cedar clapboard siding with sycamore wood and limestone details on the interior. The design maximizes the uninterrupted views of the surrounding meadow and ponds. A combination garage/guest apartment is set apart from the main house for privacy.
